Payton Stoner joins the College of Business as the Graduate Academic Advisor. Stoner came to the University of Montana after serving as an Athletic Academic coordinator at Montana State University. At MSU Stoner managed the academic success and eligibility for Bobcat football and golf student-athletes. In this role, Stoner developed the onboarding process for incoming student-athletes, taught a college course, and supervised the student services graduate assistant. Before his role at MSU, Stoner served as a Logistics Officer in the U.S. Army, managing 27 soldiers and over $8 million of equipment. A former football player (2017 and 2018) and sports information intern (2019-20) at the University of Montana, Stoner earned his bachelor's degree in business administration in 2021 and earned his master's in sports administration from the University of Louisville in 2023. Originally from San Diego, Stoner and his wife Sidney live in Missoula with their son, Ty, and their dog, Aspen.
