MISSOULA - University of Montana's Dennison Theatre will be hosting comedian Hasan Minhaj on Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 6 p.m. Minhaj's new one-man show, "The King's Jester,"  pays homage to Minhaj's storytelling roots in the wake of the global success of his Netflix Comedy Special "Homecoming King," which won a 2018 Peabody Award.

Minhaj was the host and creator of the weekly comedy show "Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj" that premiered on Netflix in October 2018. The series explored the modern cultural and political landscape with depth and sincerity through his unique comedic voice. The show received a 2019 Peabody Award, a 2019 Primetime Emmy Award for “Outstanding Motion Design,” and was recognized for a 2020 Television Academy Honor.

Hasan is known for his political humor, often referencing Indian family dynamics, and was a correspondent on Comedy Central’s “Daily Show with Jon Stewart.”

The show is presented by UM Entertainment Management (UMEM), an entertainment-focused program in the Management and Marketing Department at the University of Montana, College of Business.
