McWhinney Emerging Leaders Fellowship

The McWhinney Emerging Leaders Fellowship nurtures promising business students engaged in internships to enhance their academic journey and foster professional growth. Recipients of this fellowship can utilize the awards for various expenses such as tuition, housing, transportation, and other associated costs for their summer internship. We strongly encourage students engaged in both in-person and remote internships to take advantage of this opportunity.

Those selected for the fellowship will also have the opportunity to engage in networking and mentoring sessions directly with Deborah McWhinney.  Ms. McWhinney, a native Montanan and University of Montana graduate, has built a career as a C-Suite executive for companies such as Citigroup, Bank of America, Charles Schwab, Inc., and Engage Media. One of her many accomplishments includes the appointment by Former President George W. Bush to the Securities Investor Protection Corporation board of directors from 2002 to 2007. Ms. McWhinney plays essential roles on the boards of Legal Shield, S&P Global, and Borg Warner. She is also a trustee for the California Institute of Technology, the Institute for Defense Analyses, and Franklin Templeton ETF funds.

Applications will be accepted from December 1, 2023, to March 1, 2024. To apply, visit the scholarship link above. Eligible candidates must have at least one semester remaining after their internship experience.
