Business Major Coursework

Upon completion of all lower-core courses with a C or better in each course, students apply for a business major in Accounting, Finance, Management, Management Information Systems, Marketing, or International Business in combination with one of the majors listed previously.

To learn more about a certain major and the courses in the business curriculum unique to that major, you may click on the hyperlinks below.

These links will take you to what we call our Course Plan Templates. These downloads are newly available to business students. The new document will help you keep track of your progress in lower core, major, and general classes. These templates will also serve as your GRADUATION APPLICATION when it comes time to apply for graduation during your senior year.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR DOWNLOADING AND USING TEMPLATES:

1. Click on your desired business major below. This will open an Excel document.

2. When the template opens you will notice that an entire Excel workbook has opened with multiple tabs included on the bottom.

Tab #1: Example-"Accounting 2010-2011." This tab lists all of the classes required for the chosen business major.

Tab #2 & 3: You will choose one of these two tabs to keep track of your general requirements.

The two options are ;"Prior to F09'," and "Starting F09'." If you began school at UM before Fall of 2009 use the "Prior to F09'" tab. Students starting Fall of 2009 or later use the Starting F09'."

Tabs #5-9: These tabs are for students that have chosen to complete a second business major. This will allow you to keep track of that major progress as well.

3. These templates allow you to indicate what semester and year you took a class, and record your grades as you go along. These criteria are entered in the gold cells only. The worksheet can also be used to keep track of your Business GPA and your Major Specific GPA.
