MIS Faculty Attend International IS Conference

David Firth pouring the perfect Guinness

Jason Triche and David Firth attended the 37th annual International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) in Dublin, Ireland in December. ICIS is the global gathering for MIS scholars. Firth organized, and Triche sat on, a panel titled "How to be successful as a new faculty member.” They had a great turnout, with colleagues from around the world attending the session. “The UM School of Business is truly getting a name on the world stage in MIS,” says Firth.

The 4-day long conference was packed with cutting edge topics for MIS educators. Firth and Triche were honored to participate and excited to bring new information in digital innovation to their students.

As an added bonus to the conference, the annual social is always a highlight for attendees. This year, with the conference in Dublin, the natural choice for the closing social was the Guinness Storehouse. The Guinness Storehouse is in the heart of the St. James's Gate Brewery and is a favorite tourist destination. One of the most popular things to do at the Guinness Storehouse is to learn how to pour a proper Guinness. This is quite an involved process, but as you can see from the photo, Firth did not do a bad job at all.  Sláinte!
