SoBA Students Take Second Place in International Capsim Challenge
Three students in the School of Business Administration (SoBA) in Shawn Clouse’s Integrative Business Simulation course competed in the International Capsim Challenge Simulation competition and took second overall. The students are Yibo Fan (Acct), Ji Qiu (Fin) and Yutong Tian (Fin). They competed against 850 other students and finished in second place.
The Capsim Challenge takes Capstone, Foundation and GlobalDNA alumni and pits them against each other in a biannual competition to crown the world’s best at running a multi-million dollar simulated company. Twice each year Capsim alumni have the opportunity to test their business acumen against competitors from all over the globe.
This is the fifth time that SoBA have had UM students place in the top of this competition. The past winners were Curtis Wallette (Spring 2013 - 1st), Christopher Chew (Fall 2013 - 2nd), Donna Weathers (Spring 2014 - 2nd), and Don Helliwell (Fall 2014 - 4th).
