UMEM Hosts Annual Spring Thaw Festival on May 6
For the last 14 years, the University of Montana Entertainment Management (UMEM) program has produced Spring Thaw, an annual festival on the Oval. Each year, the festival is planned and produced by the senior-level event management class (BMGT 402). The festival gives students a hands-on opportunity to put what they've learned in the class into action.
This year's list of activities include a bouncy house, a dunk tank with Griz athletes, chariot races, face painting and a photo booth. Monte, the UM Spirit Squad and the UM Pep Band will perform and food trucks from the Galloping Grizzly, Big Dipper Ice Cream and El Cazador will be in attendance.
The festival starts on Friday, May 6th, from 12 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Music from local bands The Skurfs and Ghost Peppers will start at 3 p.m.
