Management and Marketing Advisory Board Panel to Discuss Preparing for Business Changes and Navigating the Job Market

The Management and Marketing Department invites students to attend two panel discussions with UM and SoBA alumni on Fri., Oct. 14.

Panel 1: “Preparing for the Future” GBB 123, 9 – 10:15 a.m.

This panel will focuses on the most important changes in business that students need to be prepared for in their career.  Students will leave the session with an understanding of the knowledge and skills they need to focus on to be successful. Come prepared with your questions for the following panelists:
Darin Archer, Marketing and Commerce Executive, IBM (Darin is located in San Francisco; Darin previously worked at Intel and Adobe)
Luke Langbehn, Sr. Project Engineer, McKinstry Co., LLC (Luke is located in Missoula)
Phillip Matteson, Rockies Area Operations Manager, Halliburton (Phillip is located in Denver)
Karli Vold, Director of Client Services, FiREapps, Inc. (Karli is located in Portland)

Social time students & board members 10:15 – 11 a.m.

Panel 2: "Strengths and weaknesses of UM students in the job market" GBB 123, 11 a.m. – 12:15

This panel focuses on how UM students can parlay their unique advantages into positions inside and outside the state.  For some, this may require stretching beyond their comfort zone.  Panelists will address how to find success through initiating connections and maintaining a diverse network. Come prepared with your questions for the following panelists:

John Giuliani, Owner, Montana Timber Products (yep, Montana Timber Products is located in Boise, ID)
Melanie Brock, Principal, Brock Consulting (currently residing in Missoula)
Karli Vold, Director of Client Services, FiREapps, Inc. (Karli is located in Portland)
