Recent Marketing Grad Promotes High-Tech Jobs in Montana
Mary Mildren, a Helena-area native and recent graduate of the marketing program at the University of Montana School of Business Administration, is passionate about technology in Montana.
As a student, Mildren worked as an intern at Geek Puff, which describes itself as “a space to celebrate and support smart women by sharing their stories and acknowledging their achievements.” It’s a collaborative blog about and women who use STEAM, an Internet-based digital distribution platform.
“Geek Puff was a great experience. I helped to increase the number of subscribers and also got to meet a lot of great women around Missoula that are doing great things in tech,” said Mildren.
The Montana High Tech Business Alliance recently hired Mildren as a marketing coordinator and jobs portal specialist. Her primary objective is to ensure that no closed job listings appear in the portal and that new jobs from alliance members get posted.
“My certificate in digital marketing helped me a lot to prepare me for working online with the backend functionality of a website, “said Mildren.
Mildren wanted to stay in Montana. A technology buff herself, Mildren now helps others find work with companies on the cutting edge of technology in Montana. “There are a lot of opportunities in the state,” she said.
