MISA Earns Distinguished Student Chapter Award

The Montana Information Systems Association (MISA), UM’s student chapter of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) has been recognized as a 2014-2015 AIS Distinguished Student Chapter. This award is given annually to chapters that have excelled in most of the areas of emphasis: professional development, membership, careers in IS, community service, fundraising and communications.

AIS will also honor the chapter during the 2015 International Conference on Information Systems held in Ft. Worth, Texas, from December 13-16, 2015, and again at the AIS Student Chapter Leadership Conference April 1-3, 2016.

Last spring, MISA leaders Laura Reed and Scott Campbell participated in the 2015 AIS Student Leadership Conference in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, at the University of Alabama to accept three prestigious awards:  the Outstanding “Careers in Information Systems” Award for promoting the study or practice of information systems, the Outstanding Community Service Award for making major contributions to the local community and the Outstanding Fundraising Award for creating successful and sustainable funding strategies for the chapter.
