UM Students Fighting Cancer at 4th Annual Up ‘Til Dawn Campus Event
University of Montana students are teaming up with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to compete in the fourth annual Up ‘til Dawn event on campus. The event will take place from 11:55 p.m. on Fri., Nov. 6, to to 6 a.m. Sat., Nov. 7, in Schreiber Gym.
Up 'til Dawn is a growing student-run, student-led overnight challenge dedicated to fundraising and increasing awareness for pediatric cancer and other catastrophic diseases. The group's advisor is Prof. Emily Plant from the School of Business Administration, and the two executive directors, Willa Fogarty and Breshia Hardy, are both business students.
Up 'til Dawn invites the entire University of Montana student body to gather in teams to “fight cancer in the 406.” Students team up to fundraise for the hospital through an online participation center prior to the overnight event. This year, the University of Montana's goal is to raise $44,000 for the children of St. Jude.
In celebration of the money that Up 'til Dawn participants raise for the hospital, there will be an overnight event with prizes and games. Sponsors and donors will be recognized in various ways over the course of the event. Together with the community, Up 'til Dawn is bringing awareness of pediatric cancer to Montana.
