A warm welcome from our Dean, Larry Gianchetta...

Dean Gianchetta

Welcome to the University of Montana School of Business Administration.  Reflecting on 25 years as Dean, I’m most proud of the world-class faculty we’ve recruited and the SoBA alumni who continue to distinguish themselves in their respective fields.

Whether you are a new undergraduate, prospective graduate student, employer, business professional, or alum seeking to reconnect, the School of Business Administration programs are designed to foster your success. I invite you to explore the information on this site relating to our degree programs, internships, career development, seminar series, and executive education programs.

Since 1996, we’ve been fortunate to reside in the Gallagher Business Building, a state-of-the-art facility enhanced with technology made possible through partnerships with Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard. I am grateful for the investment in the School made by alumni, corporations, foundations and other friends. Private support is critical to students, who are able to complete their education because of scholarships; to faculty, who may engage in professional development and groundbreaking research through faculty awards and research grants; and to our mission, through development of new programs and experiential learning opportunities. Thank you for your contributions.

Recently, The Princeton Review acknowledged The University of Montana as one of the best colleges in the nation and identified the business school as an outstanding program.  The validation we have received for the last few years from The Princeton Review is an enormous sense of pride for the alumni, students, staff and faculty of the School of Business Administration.  It lends credence to our message, “Higher Education at a Higher Latitude, The Thinking is Clearer Up Here.”
