What to Expect Expectations of the Business Owner As a business owner, you will be expected to provide background information on the project and to be available in person, via telephone, or via email for up to 8 hours per month during the project. In addition, if there is a presentation or reception, you are expected to attend. These would be scheduled for the end of the semester and the date will be scheduled during the first three weeks of the course. Expectations of the Students We demand the highest level of writing, comprehensive thought, and sound research from students in experiential learning courses. Student's work in groups of up to four people and have many resources available to them that give them the ability to produce "consultant quality" work. However, these are not consultants and most have not prepared projects of this depth before. And, as with any outsourced project, quality can vary. As instructors, we work closely with the students to guide the work, assist in resource connections, give feedback, and suggest revisions, however, in some instances, the quality of work may not meet the expectations of the client. At the core, this is an educational experience not a consulting job.
