The Multimedia Team

This web site was created as a class project for IS495, "Multimedia Development for Business", taught by Dr. Shawn Clouse. Dr. Clouse, the Director of Information Technology for the School of Business Administration, truly enjoys teaching.

Many of the students have a concentration in the area of Information Systems, one of the fastest growing fields in the School of Business. The class completed several Multimedia and business-oriented group assignments in preparation for this final project. The students researched and prepared Business and Marketing Plans for the web site. They evaluated current uses of multimedia technology, such as existing web sites, and determined what elements they wanted to incorporate into their own projects. Then they became familiar with the necessary applications, such as Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Flash, and Director.

Everyone gained hands-on experience, and many of the students felt this was one of the most useful classes they had taken.

The Interface Team

The Interface group acted as the project manager. It was their job to make sure all the pieces of the project came together like a big jigsaw puzzle to product the web site that you are visiting at this time.

The Digital Audio Team

The Audio group was responsible for recording and dubbing all the sound tracks used by the Digital Video, the Digital Photography, and the Animation groups. The creative music copulations of this group can be heard in the sound tracks of the Digital Video and Digital slide shows located on the home page.

The Animation Team

The Animation group took a little bit of imagination, a dash of creativity, and a pinch of craziness. They put it all together using Macromedia Flash, and produced the Flash Introduction that you saw as you entered this site.

The Digital Photography Team

The Digital Photography folks were a bunch of shutter bugs. They would wait hours for that perfect shot. Their patience paid off as can be seen in the slide show located on the home page. By using Flash, digital pictures were combined with a sound track and music to produce an informational show, which is also entertaining.

The Virtual Reality Team

The VR group used both a digital camera for still shots and a digital video camera for motion shots. By using QuickTime VR®, the VR group was able to produce a 360° panoramic view of the most high tech classroom in the Gallagher Business building, GBB 106.

The Digital Video Team

The Digital Video folks spend time recording different sights and sounds around campus while getting to know how to use a digital video camera. After all the video taping was done, it was time to cut and splice the video into a movie that would be enjoyable for all. This was accomplished using Adobe Premier©. The final product is the movie clip, "A Day in the Life of Zack" that can be accessed from the home page.

The Graphics Team

The Graphics group was responsible for the creative layout and design of the individual web pages. The group contacted photographer Carl Heilman II for permission to use his copyrighted photo of Montana's Madison Range. This photograph, which appears as the header on all of the site pages, was felt to best convey the spectacular, open beauty of our state.

By combining the input from fellow students, and a lot of their own imagination the Graphics group was able to come up with the design you see. The layout of each page was accomplished using Microsoft FrontPage.
