What is the difference between accounting and finance?

They are very closely related.  They are both related to analysis and decision making using both quantitative and qualitative data. Within an organization, finance is related to how the organization obtains and manages financial resources and their risks. Accounting is related to how the organization tracks and reports financial resources. More broadly, finance professions would include professional service firms providing banking, portfolio management, insurance, investment banking, financial planning, or real estate services. Accounting professions would include external auditing, internal auditing, tax preparation, tax planning, IT consulting, or other financial statement services.
