The Gilkey Center is the vision of The University of Montana alums Harold and Priscilla Gilkey, who, in acknowledging the power of mentors and role models in their own professional and personal achievements, wish to inspire and educate the business leaders of tomorrow. The Center will provide a region venue to help foster business development as well as new opportunities in leadership, entrepreneurship and executive education – all ingredients for a thriving regional business environment.
The Center will host the Harold and Priscilla Gilkey Executive Lecture Series, which provides students direct contact with national and global business leaders. It will also house the Montana Academy of Distinguished Entrepreneurs, which promotes the entrepreneurial spirit though programs including:
· The Lewis & Clark Pioneer in Industry Awards recognizing top luminaries in their fields, such as Dennis Washington, Liz Claiborne and tom Siebel
· Advanced Entrepreneurship Seminars hosted by notable entrepreneurs
· The John Ruffatto Business Plan Competition for Montana college and university students, from which more than 50 businesses have been launched.
The Center will add 16,153 square-feet to the School of Business Administration. Highlights include:
· A 94-seat executive auditorium
· Two executive classrooms
· An executive boardroom
· Private breakout rooms
· An executive networking club
· Informal networking spaces
· Visiting lecturer offices
