Information Booths in GBB Begin on February 19th

 

Four employers will have information available for students on Thursday, February 19th.  This begins a series of information booths which will be held throughout the semester in the GBB 2nd Floor Piazza from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm.  These information booths are a great opportunity for students and employers to meet in a more relaxed environment.  Employers have been made aware that business casual attire is allowed for these events.  The employers attending are:

 

The US Senate Committee on Finance, which considers all proposed legislation, messages, petitions, memorials, and other matters relating to bonded debt of the United States; customs, collection districts, and ports of entry and delivery; deposit of public moneys; general revenue sharing; health programs under the Social Security Act and health programs financed by a specific tax or trust fund; national social security; reciprocal trade agreements; revenue measures generally; revenue measures relating to the insular possessions; tariffs and import quotas, and matters related thereto; and transportation of dutiable goods.  The Committee on Finance has jurisdiction over legislation pertaining to Tax, Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, International Trade, Family Welfare Programs, and Investigations and Oversight. U.S. Senator Max Baucus, the Senior Senator from Montana, is the Chairman of the Committee.  Interns conduct in-depth research, attend meetings and briefings on and off the Hill, and provide critical support to Senate staff as they make legislative recommendations to Senator Baucus and other Senators on the Finance Committee.

Montana Department of Transportation provides a transportation system and services that emphasize quality, safety, cost effectiveness, economic vitality and sensitivity to the environment.  Its responsibilities include planning and design; contract administration; materials design and testing; property acquisition; fiscal programming and cost accounting; motor fuel collection and enforcement; enforcement of vehicle weight and dimension laws and the Outdoor Advertising Control Act; management of the state motor pool; highway, bridge and rest area maintenance; public transportation and rail programs and planning; general aviation airport planning; and highway traffic safety.
