Over 80 accounting students attended the annual Montana Society of CPAs (MSCPA) Opportunity Night on September 15th. “Students come to the event polished, professional, and well-spoken. They know they need to talk to the employers. They know they have to present themselves in the best light possible,” stated MSCPA Communications Director Margaret Herriges. From all accounts, the event was highly successful. The event allows for UM accounting students to learn of opportunities to work for firms right here in Montana. The message firms delivered was consistent – this year is business as usual, and the firms need interns and full-time staff as much as ever. The firms in attendance brought a number of UM alums to talk with students about what it is like working for their firm. The event also allows students a forum to network with multiple firms at once.
