When I'm not in my office working, I'm typically spending time with my boyfriend Michael, and my kids, Willy and Claire.

Born in Iowa, my family later moved to Oregon (Portland and then Baker), and then Idaho (Boise), where I grew up. I have also lived in Seattle (1978-1979), Fort Collins (1982-1983), San Francisco (1983-1985), Madison, WI (1985-1989), and Boulder, CO (1989-1997).

Some of the places I've traveled to teach are:  Finland (Helsinki and Tampere); Italy (Pisa and Volterra); Berne, Switzerland; Hyderbad, India; Lincoln, Nebraska (yep, it's true!); Claremont, California;  and Grenoble, France.

I enjoy running, skiing, gardening, hiking, cooking, and reading books about women pioneers in the 1800s.

Willie (born 1993), is a 9th grader at Hellgate High School  (as of August 2007).  His favorite activity is biking.  He's been on the Montana junior cycling team since he was 12, and loves road racing and the biking community.  He also likes camping, snowboarding, and anything outdoors.  When he's not on his bike, he's playing his iPod or his Wii, he has shown some skill at playing the piano.
Claire (born 1996) is in 6th grade at Washington Middle School (as of August 2007). She's a bundle of energy, and enjoys skiing, taekwondo, camping, piano, Webkins, and singing.  Math is one of her favorite subjects. This a picture of her 20-pound salmon in Alaska this past summer that almost pulled her down the Kenai River!
A few more pictures from our fishing trip to Alaska this past summer, and other family pictures.
