Personal Summary

Dr. Eiler is an Associate Professor and University of Montana Master of Accountancy Program Director. She earned her undergraduate degree in accounting from the St. Catherine University. She worked in the areas of multinational tax consulting and compliance for Andersen in Minneapolis. She has also worked in the tax department of a large multinational company. After moving to Oregon, she earned both her Master of Accounting and Doctorate of Accounting from the University of Oregon. Her research areas examine various implications of corporate tax disclosures and enforcement. She also conducts research on implications of international financial reporting standards. Her research has been published in various academic journals including the National Tax Journal and has been cited by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, the Joint Committee on Taxation, and The Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center. She has taught financial accounting courses including introductory accounting and all levels of intermediate accounting, governmental accounting, nonprofit accounting, and international accounting. Additionally, Dr. Eiler teaches a graduate course for accounting and non-accounting students on how taxes are used strategically in business decisions. She is an active member in the American Accounting Association, where she is involved with the American Taxation Association. She has served as reviewer for numerous scholarly journals and as a textbook editorial consultant and reviewer. She also serves on a non-profit Board of Trustees. She holds an active Oregon CPA license.
