Organization Description:
Customized internships offered at such organizations as Santiago Times, Valparaíso Times, Patagonia Times, and Santiago Radio- all of them in English. In general, news are taken from the national and local newspapers or internet sites and transformed and adapted for the English-speaking user.
Located in the capital city of Santiago. There are about 5 million people living in the greater Santiago area. It is a modern, urban environment with ease of transportation via the metro and buses. There are many activities in the area from museums and nightlife to shopping and extreme sports. It is also very easy to travel throughout Chile and South America using inexpensive weekend offers through premier airlines such as LAN, Sky and Aircomet.

Job Description:
·         Internships are available in a broad range of categories including Sales and Marketing, Journalism (at an Internet newspaper) writing one´s own articles, radio broadcasting interviewing or running a program, and web site and graphic design. Photo journalism interns are also welcome.
·         The newspapers and the radio station sites rely greatly on interns, who provide essential assistance to a base staff of a few salaried writers.
·         Interns work a minimum of 40 hours a week. The working week is Sunday to Thursday for The Santiago Times. The work week for Santiago Radio and for the other two newspapers - The Patagonia Times and The Valparaiso Times - is Monday through Friday. The work day at The Santiago Times begins at 12 noon sharp, each day, with a daily news review (pauta) and in- depth discussion of news events in Chile. Workplace and computers are provided by the institution.

Qualifications: What is most important are solid writing skills and a desire to improve them. And a passion for Chile. Each applicant will need to provide writing samples. Good computer skills.
 
Language Ability Needed: The interns must have an upper- intermediate level of Spanish (completion of 3rd year university level). Journalism interns should have advanced English writing skills.
 
Duration of Internship: minimum of 6 months
