Shandi Hunter '09

Shandi Hunter, IT Advisory Associate, KPMG LLP, is a rising star in the consulting world.  Although her formal education ended in 2009, she understands the importance of identifying learning opportunities in her daily experiences and using them to accelerate professional growth. She feels fortunate for the exposure and interactions she has with Fortune 500 companies and management teams; and appreciates the opportunities, culture, and energy that come with a professional career in Los Angeles.  She is inspired by the management team at her firm, and looks forward to the future. 

The “hands-on” experience Shandi gained through experiential courses and internships while a SoBA student was the bridge between her classroom education and future career. She considers the experiential learning program at the SoBA an integral part of her success.  Shandi encourages current students to take every opportunity available to broaden their horizons, build a network, and polish communication skills. The professional services industry requires individuals to look at problems from multiple angles. Building a network, approaching situations with an open mind, and exploring every opportunity will help students prepare for these challenges and learn how to effectively communicate solutions.   She also reminds students that making mistakes is part of the learning process and never be afraid to ask questions.
