PROFILE:
BARBARA CHANEY joined the
faculty in 2003. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Georgia
in 1997 after working on the research staff of the Governmental
Accounting Standards Board. Barb remains committed to the accounting
standards setting process and has served on a number of GASB
advisory boards.
Barb teaches financial and
governmental accounting and her primary research interests are
governmental financial reporting, measures of government financial
condition, and municipal bond pricing. She has recently published in
the
Accounting Educator, the
Journal of Public Budgeting, Accounting and Financial Management,
the Journal of Applied Business Research, the Journal of
Accounting and Public Policy, and the Journal of Government
Financial Management.
Barb is a CPA in the State of
Illinois and is a member of the American Accounting Association, the
American Institute of CPAs, and the Government Finance Officers
Association.
