Fields include, but are not limited to: government, media, film and television, business, finance, PR, social services, environmental and science fields, and community development. Job Description:
·         Intern Options Ireland works in close connection with IE3 Global Internships to provide a high-quality, relevant internship experience for accepted students in a range of professional disciplines. Options are available in private enterprise, public organizations and nonprofits in and around Dublin. In some instances, placement in another part of Ireland may be available. Through personal contact and hands-on student engagement, Intern Options Ireland matches students with an organization where they can learn and make a valuable contribution to their host site. Options can include:
§ Government – constituency offices, political campaigns, policy bodies, local and national government
§ Nonprofits – working with the disadvantaged in Ireland and abroad through community groups, charities, social service agencies and schools
§ Media – print journalism, new media, publishing, television production and post-production
§ Film – production and post production companies, on-set experience and editing
§ Business – finance, business forecasting, public relations, marketing and advertising
§ Environmental and natural sciences – working in national parks, animal reserves, zoos, conservation sites and national heritage sites
§ Arts – arts administration, art auctioneers, graphic design, interior design and furniture design
§ Law – some placements available with legal firms on a general level. However, it is difficult to find specific areas of work as the legal system in Ireland differs to that of the United States
§ Tourism – inbound travel companies, outbound travel companies and intra-country Irish tour providers
§ Culinary – Multiple top catering companies and restaurants

Qualifications:
·         All majors may apply; specific requirements will be governed by the type of work you wish to do.
·         Interns must be responsible, self-starters, and professionally motivated. Strong communication skills are an asset in any field. Students should be able to demonstrate coursework/professional (paid or volunteer) background in the relevant area.

Language Ability Needed: English
 
Duration of Internship: Minimum of 10 weeks, maximum of 1 year.  Most internships are available for 3-6 months.
