The Entertainment Management Program offers MGMT195 Introduction to the Entertainment Business and MGMT401 Event Management Monday, June 30, 2008 Once again, this one-of-a-kind and world renowned program brings a new slate of entertainment professionals and artists to campus to share their knowledge and experiences with students at the University of Montana. Past instructors have included senior executives from leading entertainment firms and Grammy, Academy and Emmy Award winners. Students enrolled in the classes are taught about the business of entertainment including the film, music, television, sports and performing arts segments. | Leadership Reaction Course Showcases Student Skills Friday, June 20, 2008 On a freezing, and sometimes snowing, spring afternoon, 13 students from Associate Professor Bambi Douma’s Leadership & Motivation course (MGMT 420) made their way through five stations in a Leadership Reaction Course. In each of the stations, one student in the group was designated to be the leader, was given the instructions privately on the rules of completion in that station, and then was evaluated on his/her leadership in communicating and getting all of the group members through the station without breaking any rules. | Several MBA Teams Make Global Performers Friday, June 20, 2008 Beginning in the spring of 2008, MBA students engage in a computer simulation as an integrative project during their last semester. In a team of two, students compete with their peers in class, who will run a company in the same industry and with identical start-up conditions. The simulation mirrors the real-world global athletic footwear industry. Read More
| Nineteenth Annual John Ruffatto Business Plan Competition Wednesday, April 30, 2008 This year’s event was the most successful and exciting competition yet! The Nineteenth Annual John Ruffatto Business Plan Competition was held on May 8th, 2008 at the Gallagher Business Building. It was attended by over 250 students, faculty, entrepreneurs and business leaders. Over $35,000 in prize money was awarded to 15 semi-finalist teams representing five different colleges from across the state. The top prize of $10,000 was awarded to an entrepreneurial team consisting of two 2008 MBA graduates from the University of Montana. Congratulations to all the students who participated! Read More
