We recommend that you
begin to research outside opportunities for funding as early as
possible. For U.S. applicants, public libraries and university
libraries often contain relevant reference materials. State and
local governments may also be sources of scholarship, grant,
and/or loan information. Try contacting your local Department of
Education for details.
We encourage
international students to investigate funding
sources in their home country. Many government
ministries of education, employers, and banks may
offer assistance in the form of grants or loans.
Please note that some organizations—including the
Fulbright Commission, the UN, and the OAS
(Organization for American States)—offer
scholarships to foster the professional development
of international students.
